This summer, FSC Interactive is celebrating our 10 year anniversary! Since 2009, we’ve been setting the pace for the digital marketing industry in the Greater New Orleans area and beyond. We thought it would be fun to take a look back on just a few of the clients we’ve worked with over the past few years, and how we’ve leveraged smart social strategies and paid search advertising to create a meaningful impact for their businesses.
1. New Orleans Tourism and Marketing Corporation and New Orleans and Co.
One of the clients we’ve worked with the longest and have made the biggest impact for is the face of the tourism industry in New Orleans: the New Orleans Tourism and Marketing Corporation (NOTMC) and the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, which rebranded last year to be known as New Orleans and Co.
FSC Interactive built the social media channels for Visit New Orleans, which we still currently manage and use to connect our message of promoting our city with the world. In our work with NOTMC, we provide social media management, paid social advertising, influencer marketing, community management, and crisis management. The Facebook page currently boasts over half a million followers, with more than 266K Instagram followers and 113K Twitter fans. We’ve also won a lot of awards over the years for our work with NOTMC, most recently the 2019 Addy Award for Best in Social Media.
2. 1st Lake Properties
Another long-time client of ours is 1st Lake Properties, which has designed, developed, acquired, and managed over 9,500 apartment units, as well as commercial properties, in greater New Orleans since 1970. We’ve been their primary digital agency for the past 10 years, handling different aspects of their online marketing strategy from paid search advertising and display advertising to blogging, SEO, and social media management.
Over the past 5 years, 1st Lake Properties have maintained a 95% occupancy rate for all of their properties throughout Southeast Louisiana and Mississippi.
3. Hotel Monteleone
We’ve also worked with Hotel Monteleone since the early days of FSC Interactive. We developed the online brand for this iconic New Orleans establishment, maintaining a direct revenue stream driven by our digital strategy, despite the changing times.
Hotel Moneteleone has welcomed visitors to the French Quarter since 1886, and over the past 10 years, we’ve contributed $10 million annually in revenue through our digital marketing campaigns. We provide Hotel Monteleone with a comprehensive digital marketing strategy, including paid search advertising, paid social media advertising and social media community management, SEO and content marketing, email marketing, and more.
4. Swerve Sweetener
Our partnership with Swerve Sweetener is one of our more recent success stories. We were their first partner for digital marketing, and over the past year we’ve been connecting their message with millions of potential customers using a thoughtful social media advertising strategy.
Swerve is a zero calorie, natural sugar replacement that tastes, measures, cooks, and bakes like sugar, and we love creating content for them! We’ve partnered with Swerve to create custom product photography and video shoots that capture their brand’s essence, boost their conversions, and produce some very sweet results!
5. Domain Companies
Another recent success story is the Domain Companies. They’re one of the nation’s leading development and real estate investment companies, and they specialize in sustainable mixed-use development. We helped them launch two unique New Orleans properties: The Standard (luxury condominiums in the downtown South Market District) and The Shop At The CAC (a unique co-working space tucked inside of the Contemporary Arts Center).
Using paid search advertising and paid social media, we helped them find new customers and tenants for these beautifully designed properties.
6. Loyola University New Orleans
From 2010-2017, FSC Interactive contributed to Loyola’s online brand in a significant way. Loyola University New Orleans is a 100+ year old university rooted in strong Jesuit values, but we helped them stay relevant with current students, potential students, alumni, and the community.
We were the voice of Loyola’s online experience, working with them to leverage New Orleans’ authentic and unique culture and grow enrollment. We quickly jumped on timely trends to maintain relevance with students (like incorporating selfies in real-time into the 2014 commencement ceremony at the Superdome), and created nostalgia and camaraderie among faculty, alumni, and the student body. In 2013, we won 1st place from the Press Club of New Orleans in the Public Relations: Social Media category for our work on Loyola’s 100 Days of Giving social media campaign.
7. The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk
FSC Interactive was a part of the iconic reopening of The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk in New Orleans. After being closed for nearly a decade, the shopping mall previously occupied by Riverwalk Marketplace rebranded and reopened in May 2014 as the nation’s first downtown outlet center.
FSC provided live event coverage on social media for the full weekend of grand opening events, and we leveraged Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to help revitalize a beloved part of the New Orleans community. We were honored to receive a PR News’ Digital PR Award in Facebook Communications for our work with The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk’s Grand Opening.
Building on our successes with tourism campaigns for the New Orleans Tourism and Marketing Corporation and New Orleans and Co., we also started the GoNOLA social media accounts (@GoNOLA504 on Instagram and Twitter) as well as the GoNOLA.com blog, which we ran until summer of 2017.
GoNOLA.com is a free content site that supports diverse local business and gives an insider look to New Orleans. From the very beginning of our work on this project, we were winning awards, including a PRSA Award and a Silver Adrian Award. We were also a finalist for the Digiday Publishing Awards in 2016 in the “Best Publishing Site Design” category, recognizing our efforts for the new and improved GoNOLA.com.
9. Katrina 10
For the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the federal levee failures in New Orleans, we ran a social media command center for the month of August 2015. As conversations happened around the hashtag #Katrina10, we monitored and engaged with the online community both locally, nationally and beyond, commemorating the anniversary as the city celebrated.
During the same time, Visit New Orleans also sought to share a message of thanks and appreciation to commemorate the 10th anniversary and show how far the city had come. Through organic and paid social media efforts of “Thank You” social media posts, we reached more than 1.4 million people.
We started on the ground floor with SmartBid, a construction bid management platform, helping them grow into being one of the largest construction software companies in the industry.
Last year, SmartBid was acquired from their creators and our client, JBKnowledge, by ConstructConnect. Our partnership with JBKnowledge and SmartBid helped them go from being a local Texas company to a nationwide success.
