Facebook has come out with a new “Save” tool and we wanted to fill you in on what it does, why it’s awesome, and how to use it. Get to know the social media giant’s new tool below in this FSC First Look.
How it Helps
It’s no secret that we’re bombarded by interesting news and content, but sometimes not at the most convenient times. For instance, I’m very interested in “Sentences that appeared in Blake Lively’s New Vogue Interview,” but I’m at work and can’t break away at the moment.

Why it’s Awesome
Facebook’s way of combating the issue of not having time at that moment to read something relevant to you is called, “Save.” Similar to bookmarking on a web browser, you can save a piece of news to read later. Say you’re quickly scrolling your news feed while stopped at red light…or erm (is that illegal?), and you see something eye catching, but the light turns green. You can bookmark this piece of content for later to read when you’re home, lounging around and ready to unwind.

How to Use It
Your saved content will show up in an area all its own, similar to where messages are located. The “Save” option only shows up when selecting the arrow at the top right corner of an article post, meaning a post with a link. The option does not, at this time, show up for photos or text only posts. “Save” is available on mobile and desktop. Best of all it’s synced to your Facebook account, so it will show up across devices! No need to download an additional app or service.
