YouTube allows users to upload, share and watch videos. It’s a hub of user-generated original content that spans from 13-year-olds posting video journals to first releases of professional short films. When leveraged correctly, it can be an incredible resource for your brand and a great boost for your SEO, since Google owns it! If the idea of creating tons of footage is intimidating, there are other ways to add content and increase your value and engagement on YouTube. The following covers the basics of creating a YouTube playlist and embedding a YouTube video onto your own website.

How To Create a YouTube Playlist:

1. Click on the video you would like to add to your playlist. Click the Add To button below the video. A menu will drop down allowing you to either select a current playlist to add the video to or create a new playlist.

2. If you select the option to create a new playlist, another menu will drop down allowing you to name the new playlist, decide if it should be public or private and then create it. After you create it, future videos can be added directly from the first drop down screen.

That’s it! It’s as simple as that. You can now aggregate additional content similar to your own, provide your subscribers with added value and help promote other channels through yours.

How To Embed a YouTube Video:

1. Go to YouTube and select the video you would like to embed. Click the Share button under the video you have opened.

You can select the different sizes listed to change the size of the video player that will be embedded onto your website or you can create a custom size to fit your needs by entering the Width and Height in the custom fields. The size measurements are in pixels.

4.  Paste this embed code, complete with the size you need, onto the back end of your web page where you want the video shown. This may best be done by a webmaster or someone with technical experience.

It’s a quick and relatively easy way to add additional content to your website and promote your videos where you get the most traffic. People like to receive their information differently, and adding a video component is a great way to expand your brand’s overall reach.
